Weekly Update: Week of Feb. 18 - 24th

See below for important information pertaining to tryouts, clinics, online store, local lacrosse games, etc. I'll send an email out by every Monday morning about the week ahead:
 
1) Tryout INFORMATION
Dates: Monday - Feb. 20, 2019 
Location: W-L Turf Field 
Time: 4:30 - 7 PM (arrive 45min early if you need any equipment)
 
2) Tryouts TIPS:
BRINGRunning Shoes + Cleats, Water, Completed Physical, any equipment you have borrowed or own from. We can provide necessary equipment if needed, just come 45min early.
RUNNING TEST: 2 Miles in 15 minutes for 8-10th graders / 2 Miles in 14 minutes for 11-12 graders. Tests will be administered February 18, 2019 (first day of tryouts), then again every day of tryouts (Mon.-Wed.)
40* or Below Rule: If the temperature is 40 degrees or lower, you MUST wear a sweatshirt AND sweatpants. Over your gear / under your gear makes no difference, just come prepared for the weather. 
You will be sent home if you're unprepared! 
 
3) Online Store: Our bi-annual Team Store will be open THURSDAY, Feb 21st - 28th. ONE WEEK ONLY!!! I'll send a reminder on Thursday AM.

4) BASELINE TESTING: March 1st. (JV 3:15pm / V- 3:45pm) Room 2010. Meet with the Athletic Trainer so he can administer Concussion Baseline Test.
  
5) CLINIC / CAMPS: PLL Academy Clinic in Fairfax, VA 1:30-2:30pm. Feb. 24. $99. Registration Link:

SCHOOL CANCELATION/ CLOSING EARLY If we have NO SCHOOL (or close early) = NO PRACTICE / GAME.

4) Online Store: Our bi-annual Team Store will be open NEXT WEEK, Feb. 21st - 28th. A separate email with Link / Passwords will be sent next week, we use this opportunity as a key fundraiser.

Fall Practices (Green Days) START NOW Every Tues. / Thurs. until Nov. 1st

Fall Practices (Green Days) on Sept. 25th. They will be EVERY TUESDAY and THURSDAY from Sept. 25th until Nov. 1st.

Time: 5:30 - 7:30PM on the Grass Field next to the Pool.

*** RAIN OR SHINE *** If thunder / lightening then we will move inside. 
 
THINGS YOU NEEDAny Equipment you own (or borrowed from W-L last season) + Running Shoes + Water + Mouthpiece. We can provide 100% of the necessary equipment, but if you have your own gear all the better.

Boys Lacrosse Tryouts

All,

Boys Lacrosse will host 3 days of tryouts beginning Monday, February 20th. The dates, times, location for tryouts are:

  • 5:00PM - 7:00PM stadium turf

Tuesday 2/21

  • 6:30PM - 8:00PM stadium turf

Wednesday 2/22

  • 6:30PM - 8:00PM stadium turf

All players interested in trying out must be physically cleared. If you played a fall or winter sport for the W-L, you do not need to do anything. If this is your first sport this school year, make sure you have gotten a physical and submitted to our training staff for clearance. You will not be permitted to try out unless you are cleared.

Please come to practice with as much of the gear as possible:

  • stick
  • gloves
  • elbow pads
  • shoulder pads
  • cleats
  • mouth guard
  • protective cup
  • helmet
  • pinny

If you don't have the proper gear - please work with Coach Rodger who also works in the school.

We look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
