The VHSL voted to postpone all sports seasons. That means Cross Country is now scheduled to take place during 'Season 2' from February 15 – May 1.
Since our season is delayed, we will NOT start practicing regularly in the mornings on August 3rd as previously planned. Please sign up for the team here, if you haven't already. Signing up for the team ensures you're on the email list and will receive the most updated information.
Please contact Coach Rigali (email@example.com) with questions.
Runners of all abilities are welcome, and there are no try-outs. Significant commitment is required from all as we do follow a rigorous training schedule that our athletes find both challenging and rewarding.
Please sign-up for the team prior to attending your first practice and after reading the team rules.
Each athlete must have a current physical (dated 5/1/20 or more recent). The following paperwork must be turned into the activities office before the first day of practice: VHSL Physical and APS participation agreement. Students cannot participate in practice without a physical.
In a typical (non-pandemic) year the team meets every weekday, Monday-Friday, until the end of the season and every athlete will have the opportunity to run a five 5km races. Runners who meet certain qualifications may have the opportunity to compete in large invitationals on the weekends and post season championship races. The number of races and type of races available, as well as the dates of the season are subject to change for 20-21 school year given the COVID-19 pandemic.
